(by telegraph.—press association). Auckland, Last Night. At the meeting ot the Womens' Political League, the following resolution was passed unanimously, and was forwarded to the Premier and Captain Russell : " In the opinion of the League the Old Age Pension Bill in its present form is unjust and impolitic, as it proposes to. tax the provident to support the improvident. The League believes no measure will be satisfactory unless founded on the principle of self-help." John Hart, chief steward of the Rose Casey, on leaving the vessel slipped on the cop of the wall of the breast work and fell between the breast work and the vessel, striking his head. He was rendered unconscious, and is not expected to live. He is 45 years of age and married. John Sinclair was fined 40s and costs for selling besr without a license at the luncheon booth at the Avondale races.
