TE AWAMUTU.
Cricket Club.—The annual meeting of theTe Awamutu Cricket Club was held in Lewis' Hotel on Saturday evening last. There was a very good attendance of members. Mr R. Hampton presided. The Secretary, Mr C. Bowden, read the annual report and balancesheet, which were adopted. The balancesheet showed receipts during the past season to be £l6 6s 6d, and expenditure £l3 13s lid, ileaviug a credit balance of £2 12s 7d.—The club was again successful in winning the caps.—The officers elected for the ensuing year were as follows :—President, Mr Jas. Cottrcll; vice-Presidents, Messrs C. J. Storey, W. Taylor, P. O'Connor, F. Gibson, and Dr. Pairman ; club captain, C. Bowden ; vice-captaiD, G. Blackett ; committee: Messrs Watson, Burton, Hampton, Carley. Bowden, and J. Corboy; hon. sec. and treasurer, C. Bowden. The following new members were elected: Messrs A. Wallace, J. Ward, M. Chapman, J. Bathurst, H. Burton, A. McPhee, R. Daweon, D. Bockett, F. Callis, C C. Taylor, F. Taylor, J. Corboy, T. Bond, G. Teasdale, C. Andrickson, G. McGee and R. Mattison.—Mr Hampton was kindly donated a bat for the best average during the season.—lt was decided to play the matches this season on the Domain, and Thursdays and Saturdays as general practice days.—Messrs Hampton and Burton were appointed delegates to attend the Onion meetings. Athletic Club.—At the annual meeting of the Amateur Athletic Club, held on Saturday evening last previous to the cricket meeting, the following officers were unanimously elected for the ensuing year :-Patron, MrF. Gorrie, J. Hutchinson, H. Lewis, T. Porter, J. Bathurst, F. Gib?on, J. H. Mandcno, W. North, W. J. Hunter, A. Swarbrick, A. Wallace, G. MeUullagh, C. A. Bowden, G. Churches. J. I>. Teasdale, E. Aubin, A. Uloth, R. B. Brown and'J. Teddy ; Judges, Messrs P. O'Connor and W. Taylor; Referee, Mr G. Blackett; Handicappcrs, Messrs Burton and Bowden ; Starter, Mr Weal; Commige, Messrs Burton, Bockett, BowdeuTWeal, Churches, Lewis, Bond, Taylor Dawson and Matthews; Hon. Secretary, Mr C. Bowden ; Hon Treasurer, Mr D. Bockett. It was deeded to hold the sports on the Domain, the programme as follows : - 120 yards hurdle handicap, 100 yards handicap, 250 yards bracelet, 150 yards handicap one mile, half-mile, 440 yards flat, 440 yards hurdles, 150 yards (boys 2 years old and under), 440 yards (boys 1G years and under), one mile bicycle handicap, three mile bicycle handicap. Entries will close on Saturday, 29th October.-(Own Correspondent).
