The leading article was read next, and was followed by a paper entitled " A Few Thoughts on the Railway Agitation." This arti.-le accused the Auckland people of selfishness, and spoke in favour of the central route. The " Answers to Correspondents" were then proceeded with, and a report of a bogus meeting, condemning the local authorities for delay in commencing the new Public Hall, was read. The next article was a poem, " A Point Pressed Home," and was followed by humorous paper on " Time. 1 ' A piece of poetry, " A Dream," came next, followed by a short story, entitled *' For Friendship's Sake." An article on " The Study of Mankind " brought the journal to a close. Messrs Fitzpatrick and Hanlon spoke on several of the items, and Mr Morris criticised the paper on the *' Railway Agitation," and strongly advocated the Stratford route. The Chairman announced that the next meeting would be devoted to " Electioneering Speeches," and aheady seven candidates had sent in their names. This terminated the proceedings. New Teacher. .
