(UY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Last Night. MAHUTA, the Maori King, who was to have left today by the Gairloch for Wellington, has deferred his departure, and remains in town. A six-roomed house was burned down at Panmure. It was occupied by Mr B. L. Lock, and his furniture was insured in the Alliance for £l2O. The building, which was owned by Mrs Fitzpatrick, was insured for £75 in the London and Liverpool aud £4O in the Alliance. ThoHaurakicrushed 144 ton i of quartz for £1,437. At the Woodstock the month's crushing was 520 tons of quartz valued at £657, and at the Kaponga 25 tons for £3OO. Expert opinion has been obtained by the Exhibition authorities that unless the furnishing of Government House is gone on with at once it will not be. ready for the reception of Lord and Lady Ranfurlv. »
