FASHODA.
BRITISH ULTIMATUM. FRENCH TO QUIT. EXCITEMENT IN FRANCE. (by electric telegraph—copyright). London, September 15. The Daily Telegraph states that General Kitchener will present an ultimatum to Captain Marchand, the leader of the French expedition, requiring him to quit Fashoda forthwith. If the French fire the British will use force. The tribe of Shillucks, who co-ope-rated with Captain Marchand in the attack on Fashoda, have sent pledges of loyalty to the Khedive. It rs expected they will join General Kitchener's force. Pakis, September 16. The papers are tremendously excited over the Fashoda developments. September 17. The Temps says that France attaches real importance to Captain Marchand's mission, and any act menacing the French flag will be considered to entail the consequences arising out of such incidents. (Received September 19, 11.30 a.m.) Paris, September IS. Major - General Grenfell has started from Omdurman to confer with General Kitchener, now en route for Fashoda.
