RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.
The usual meeting of the above was held on Saturday. There were present:— Messrs W. H. Mandeno (Chairman), M. Turi.ey, Geo. McKinder, R. Kay and R. Burke. Correspondence.—An intimation was received from the Land and Survey Department that the sum of £ll 18s 3d had accrued on property situated on the Ohaupo Road.—lt was resolved that the Board apply for the money when the necessary work is arranged. Martin's Hill, Paikitkct.—The Chairman stated that there had been some delay in arranging with the different parties concerued in this cutting, but he had finally arranged with them aud had invited tenders for the work. Messrs Goodfellow, Park and Walker were all willing to contribute their share to have the job done. Mr Clark waited on the Board and stated that Mr Pa>-k would give £lO provided the second hill were cut next year.—The Chairman said that he could not say whether this would be cut. as there might be a new Board, but he was of opinion that the work would be done. The other parties interested were willing to. contribute £5 each.— After discussion it was resolved that the contribution of Messrs Park, King and Walker of £lO towards the cutting of Martin's hill be accepted, conditionally that Walker's hill be cut next year.—The tenders received for the work were: McNaul Bros., pet cubic yard, and pipes 10s per set; Bearsley and Bygrave, 7d per cubic yard, 15s per set pipes, including cartage ; T. Gordon, 7d per cubic yard.—The tender of Messrs McNaul Bros, was accepted. Storey's and Shaw's Road. The Chairman reported this road to be in a. bad state, and was authorised to have the necessary work done at a cost of £ls. Pdniu Road.—Mr McKinder asked to have some more forming done on this road. —Mr Burke thought it was about time some money was spent iu his district, as also did Mr Turney, and were of opinion that the Kihikihi eud had been well looked after. On referring to the cash book, it was shown that the amount expended iu Mr McKinder's district last year was £4B 5s b'd, and in Mr Burke's district (Ngaroto), £l3 8s 6d.— It was, however, agreed that tenders be called for forming forty chains, more or less, tenders to be in by next meeting. Lake Road. —It was resolved that tenders be called for sixty chains of formation ou this road, to be iu by next meeting. Accounts. The following accounts were passed for payment :—Government valuation, 10s 6d ; Kihikihi Town Board, 5s ; rent of office, £l.—(Own Correspondent).
