(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.-—COPYRIGHT.)

(Received September 7, 7.15 p.m.). Sydney, September 7. In the Legislative Assembly Mr Lyne tabled a motion that in order not to hamper the federal question by laying down conditions the House empowers the Government to negotiate with the other colonies, including Queensland, with a view to bringing about the necessary amendments in the Commonwealth Bill.

The Premier, Mr Reid, accepted the motion as one of censure, and the House adjourned until to-morrow.
