LISBON'S STATEMENT
A PREMEDITATED MURDER

(Received Sept. 7, 10 p.m.) Sydney, September 7. At the inquest on the bodies of the victims of the George-street tragedy, when the coroner was summing up Lisson stood up and addressed the jury, stating that he had premeditated the murder of Mordant, whom he accused of swindling him ; also that he shot the girl wilfully, having had a row with her the night before, and he meant to shoot his wife wilfully. The accused concluded, " Now, gentlemen, if that helps you, there you are. You can only hang me once and I will sing; you a sons; before I am hanged.
Ho said if the constable had arrested him promptly the children would not have been touched.
