TE AWAMUTU.
CIIESS. —Referring to the late chess match played by telegraph between Te Awamutu and Hamilton, the game between Mr Home, of Hamilton, and Mr Germann, Te Awamutu, which was referred to Auckland for adjudication, has been given in favour of Te Awamutu. The match, therefore, results in a draw (not a win for Hamilton, as previously stated) each side scoring 2h games, not taking into consideration the game between Mr McCrea (Hamilton) and Mr Bertram (Te Awamutu), the dispute in which it is not intended to proceed further with. LimußY.—The Chairman of our Library Committee is again to the fore in provirliug attractive amusement for the public, and, at the same time, looking after the interests of the Library. Mr Vause has arranged with the Pirongia Minstrels, who have very kindly agreed co give an entertainment in Te Awamutu. The programme i.s to include several novelties, including concert, negro sketches, etc., and the proceeds are to be divided between the Te Awamutu and Pirongia Libraries.
