HAMILTON WEST SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
Drill.—At the last meeting of the Hamilton West School Committee a letter was read from the Board of Education re the question of drill in the Waikato schools.— The Board seated it could uot see its way to appoint a drill instructor for the Waikato, an 1 also drew attention to the f ict that no special instructor is now employed by the Board. Resignation" or Mk M obbaw— The following letter was received from the head master of the school, Mr J. M. Murray :—" To Mr E. White, Secretary School Committee, Hamilton West. Sir, —I beg to inform you that 1 have this day tendered my resignation to the Beard. This is to take effect in three mouths from date. I need hardly state that, owine to weak health, I have not been about the township, and therefore unable to consult the committee personally. Thanking your committee for the kindness and courtesy 1 have received from one and all.—l am, etc., J. M. Murray, head teacher. August 19th, 1898." —Mr Murray's resignation was received with regret.
