HAMILTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of this Society was held at St. Peter's school-room yesterday afternoon, when about 25 members attended.
The Treasurer read the annual balancesheet, showing a debit balance of £5 4s, which was passed and approved. The Treasurer pointed out that the deficiency was due to the initial expenses being included and also to the fact that as this had been their first show certain expenses had been incurred which could be largely reduced in the future without impairing the efficiency of the show. He quoted figures to show that on the same revenue for the current year there will be no difficulty in securing a balance to credit.
Mr W. Dey and Mr A. Swarbrick were unanimously re - elected to the offices of President and Secretary respectively. The following were elected as the Committee, in addition to the President and Treasurer : Mesdames Biggs, Brcwis, Farror, Hume, Manning, Murray, Seddon, Miss Sandes, Dr. Rrewis, and Messrs G. Edgecumhe, J. S. Edgecumbe, R. Parr and P. E. Stevens.
After a general conversation as to the future arrangements of the Society, it was decided to hold a show in November, the exact date to be fixed by the committee.
A number of new members were enrolled, and great confidence in the future of the Society was expressed.
