FOOTBALL
The match between the Hamilton Rovers and the Cambridge team, arranged for this afternoon at the latter place, will not be played. Waingaro and Ohanpo will meet on Sydney Square this afternoon. A match will be played on Sydney .Square to-day between the Hamilton East and Newsteid schoolboys. Play will commence at 1.30 p.m. On Saturday next the Rovers will journey to Ngaruawahia to try conclusions with the Waingaro toam. The following team will represent Hamilton 11. in their match against Hamilton 1., to be played on Sydney Square this afternoon : Full-back—P. Johnson ; three-quarters—Coomber, A, Tebbs, J. Wright ; five-eighths —J. Moore ; half—W. Wright : wings—W. Rogers and M. Harwood ; forwards— Kinsella, Malum, T. Moore, L. Harwood, Castleton, Hughes and Hume. Emergencies—Backs : Sutton and d'Arcy. Forwards : Hall, Rogers, Doctor. At Potter's Paddock, Auckland, this afternoon, the annual contest between Taranaki and Auckland will take place. The visitors are spoken of as a fast and clever lot, and are determined to bring about the defeat of the local team. However, we predict that when the numbers go up Auckland will be found in the van.
