M. ZOLA
(BY electric TELEGRAPH—copyright). London, July 20. M. Zola has gone to Lucerne, in Switzerland. Paris, July 21. M. Zola fled to Lucerne in order to avoid service of notice that judgment had been passed in default, which enables M. Zola to be retried in October, when he anticipates a more favourable hearing. The leading newspapers recognise M. Zola's motive ; but others allege his flight is due to cowardice.
