CHINESE REBELLION.
(BY KLECTRIC TELKGB\rH—COPYRIGHT). Shanghai, July 11. Many soldiers from Annam, led by foreigners, are joining the Black Flag rebellion in South China. Two thousand Manchu troops have been sent to repel the Annamite troops. Sydney, July 12. Eastern news received here ste.tes that a rebellion has broken out in the Kwang-tuug and Kwang-si provinces. The rebels have taken the town of Chowchow-fu, near Swatow, killed the district magistrate and his wife, and burned the Yamen. The Hongkong Telegraph further states that discontent is evident in various parts of the Empire. Though it may be too much to say that a huge revolution is under way, it is certain that there is great restlessness throughout South China. (Received July 13, 9.50 a.m.). Shanghai, July 12. The Black Flags captured the Magistrate of . Kwang-si province, soaked him iu kerosene and burnt him alive. They afterwards butchered the Magistrate's family.
