FIRES.

A CHURCH DESTROYED. (by telegraph—press association*). Duxedin, Last Night. The North Dunedin Presbyterian Church was totally destroyed by fire this morning and a brick hull attached considerably damaged. The church was insured for £IOOO in the National, £SOO of which was reinsured in the Standard, the organ for £l6O in the New Zealand Office, and the hall for £6OO in the United Office. The church and organ were completely destroyed, and the damage to the hall is estimated at £3OO. The Sundayschools and church libraries, on which there was no insurance, were vahied at £3OO. The origin of the firs is a mystery. Chrlstcugrch, Last Night. The residence of Mr Stringer, solicitor, has been destroyed by fire. The house was insured for £7OO, and Mr Stringer's law library for £2OO in the North British, and the furniture for £SOO in the Alliance.
