NGARUAWAHIA.
Cake and Apron Fair.—That held in the Ngaruuwahia Hall, on Friday, Juuc 3rd, in aid of funds for repairs to the Presbyterian Manse, was a success in every way. The hull was thrown open to the public shortly after dinner, and the stalls were well patronised. Early in the evening nearly every article was disposed of, and the proceeds aro sufficient to effect the nee ssary repairs. The credit of bringing about this satisfactory state, is mainly due to Mrs Kay, who took the most prominent part in the affair. About 8 o'clock the hall w:is cleared and dancing commenced. Sonus were also sung by Miss Paterson and F. Hunt. Debate Adjouhned.- The debate between the Ngaruawahia and the Athcmcum Clubs, which should have come off last Monday, had to be postponed on account of the member of the A>hen.'vuin Club not being able to attcud. The Auckland visitors hope to visit this township early in September.-(Own Correspondent).
