MR GLADSTONE
EU3SIAN COMMENTS. THE FUNERAL. (BY KLKCTRIC TKLKIifUPH COPYRIGHT.) London, May 23. Many references are raado to the death of Mr Gladstone in tho Russian newspapers, which are unanimous in paying homage to tho deceased statesman. Mr Gladstone's will directs that his widow shall be interred in tho samo grave, and further directs that no laudatory inscription 6hall be placed on his tomb. May 24. At Mr Gladstone's funeral the members of the Houses of Lords and Commons and tho Privy Councillors will precede the body to Westminster Abbey, the family mourners following. Foreign Cousuls, the representatives of the public service, the universities, the learned societies, the mayors, provosts, and chairmen of county councils have been invited. In deference to the family's wishes no flowers have been permitted. Morning dress will be wsrn. (Received May 25, 10.30 p m.). London, May 24. In accordance with Mr Gladstone's directions, the funeral will be a very simple one. There will be no procession in London, State pageant, or military display. ■
