WAIKATO RUGBY UNION.
The adjourned meeting of the Waikato Rugby Union was held at the Royal Hotel, Hamiltou, on Saturday evening, when the following delegates were present : Huutly : Messrs Peckham and Housley. Hamilton : Messrs Lowe and Williamson. Cambridge : Messrs M. Roberts and Carnachan. Ohaupo : Messrs Heather and Willoughby. YVaingaro : Messrs Skeltonand Paynter. The President (Mr Geo. Edgecumbe) was in the chair. The Chairman apologised for the absence of Mr H. E. Tristram, through sickness, and explained that the meeting called for April 23rd, had been adjourned, in order to allow of replies being received from the Ohaupo and Cambridge Football Clubs, and also to allow delegates from these clubs to attend and take part in arranging the fixtures. Ohaupo Club.—A letter was read from Mr Tissiman, Secretary to the Ohaupo Football Club, intimating that his club had decided to join the Waikato Rugby Union. Officers.—The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows : President : Mr Geo. Edgecumbe. VicePresidents : Messrs F. VV. Lang and W. H. Herries, M.H.Rs., L. O'Neill, T. Slade, W. J. Ralph, 13. Hewett and S. Wilson.—The Chairman proposed Mr H. E. Tristram as Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, and in doing so referred to the great interest Mr Tristram took in the Union, and to tiie satisfactory manner in which the affairs of the Union had been managed since he had held the office.—This was seconded by Mr Lowe and carried unanimously. FIXTURES.—-The fixtures for the first round were then discussed aud arranged as follows :—May 21 : Cambridge v. Waingaro, at Hamiltou ; Hamilton v. Ohaupo, At Ohaupo ; Huntly a bye. May 28: Huutly v. Waingaro, at Ngaruawahia; Cambridge v. Hamilton, at Hamilton ; Ohaupo a bye. Junk 4 : Huntly v. Ohaupo, at Hamilton ; Hamilton v. Waingaro, at Ngaruawahia ; Cambridge a bye. .Junk 11: Hamilton v. Huntly, at Huntly ; Cambridge v. Ohaupo. at Cambridgo ; Waingaro a bye. Junk IS : Waingaro v. Ohaupo, at Hamilton. Junk 25: Huntly v. Cambridge, at Hamilton. Caps.— It was resolved that the secretary bo authorised to procure the caps lor 1895 and 1897 forthwith. Caps, 1S I JB.—lt was resolved that caps bo played for this Measou on the same lines as last year, namely, thai if at the end of the season there wire not sufficient funds in hand, the Union to make a levy upon each of the clubs to make up the amount. Leave Granted. —Permission was granted Mr C. Spaight to play for the Suburbs Club (Auckland) and then to play for the Hamilton Club. Subscription.— The subscription was fixed at £1 Is, and each club must pay the subscription before being eligible to play in any of the matches. Clubs and Colours. -The following clubs were registeicd with their colours, namely--Huntly, maroon ; Cambridge, blue and white ; Ohaupo, black and blue ; Waingaro, red aud white ; Hamilton, blue. Players.—The delegates were notified to send in lists of players for registration, together with their subscriptions of £1 Is. This concluded the business.
