Many torpedo boat destroyers are a!s,o beiog constructed, and seven battleships and six cruisers are in course of completion. Lord Bawke condemns the practico of tea adjournments in cricket matches, and expresses the hope that cricketers will avoid the general adoption of the system. A British syndicate has entered into an agreement to acquire 250,000 acres of British New Guinea at a cost of 2s per acre. They propose to cultivate the rubber plant and other produce, develop mineral resources, and otherwise promote British immigration.
