TAMAHERE ROAD BOARD.

* —. THE annual meeting of the Tamahere Road Board was held on Wednesday, May 4th. There were present : Messrs Wheeler, Bar ugh, Furze, Rhodes and Ramsay. The latter is a new member, vice Mr Hobbs. Chairman.—Mr Wheeler was appointed chairman. Rate.—The Clerk was directed to notify the intention of the Board to strike a rate of fd in the £ in June. Overdraft. —The usual resolution requesting the Bank of New Zealand to allow the Board to overdraw to the fall legal limit, £lB9 Is 3d, was passed by the Board. Claim For Gravel.—ln the matter of a claim made by certain natives for gravel taken from Lot 85, Tauwhare, the Chairman and Mr Rhodes were deputed to attend a meeting of natives convened at Tauwhare at 3 p.m. on Friday, 6th May, by Tupu Taingakawa tc Waharoa for the purpose of discussing the question, and, if possible, arriving at an amicable settlement. Accounts. —Accounts for road work amounting to £24 16s were paid.
