INTERPROVINCIAL.
(BY TELEGRAPH - PRESS ASSOCIATION). W ellinoton, Last Night. At Carterton yesterday, the Masters and officers of the rive Masonic Lodges in the various townships of Wairarapa were jointly invested by the Supt. Grand Lodge (Mr Williams). A banquet and a ball followed. The Hon. Mr Seddon and a considerable nurrber of other Masonic dignitaries from elsewhere were present. Information has been received that Edwin Draper, at»ed 52 years, cut his throat with a butcher's knife near Pahiatua this morning. Some ex-military men here mooted a proposal re forming an honorary reserve composed of veterans who have seen service in the field, aud a meeting to dhcuss the suggestion will shortly be couvened. It is estimated that a corps numbering 500 can be formed in the North Island. There has been remaikably fine weather since Easter bright, warm and windless. Wellington seldom enjoys a respite from wind like that experienced during the past month. It, is the only stretch of distinctly enjoyable weather for nearly two years.
