GOLD ROBBERY IN HIKURANGI.

(by telegraph—press association). IiiKBEANGi, Last Night. On the 20th (nf April the house of Samuel Hick.B,. coal miner, of Hikurangi, was bro'keiLinto and a box containing £l2O and a quantity of jewellery removed. The box was subsequently fouud among some limestone rocks 50 yards from the house, broken open and the money and articles abstracted. Last night a man named Walter Hansen was arrested by Detective McMahon and Constable Keddek on suspicion, and a sum of £7O was found hidden under the boards of a house lately occupied by accused. He was charged to-day with the theft and remanded for eight days.
