COUNCIL OF WOMEN .

At the meeting of the Council being held in Wellington, the followinc resolution has been carried unanimously :—" That in the opinion of this Council the time has come when all disabilities which at present hinder women from fitting as members in cither House of the Legislature, or from beinc elected or appointed to any public office or position in the colony, should be removed, and that, with regard to all powers, rights and duties of citizens, absolute equality should be the law of the land." A copy is to be forwarded to all the members of the Legislature.
