MAGISTRATE'S COURT, TE AWAMUTU.

Wednesday.—(Before Captain Jackson, S.M.) THK usual monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held on Wednesday last. The sitting lasted till 5 o'clock. Banoiaohia Koad Board v. W'm. Voice.—This was an action brought by the Ranginohia Bo.id Beard against W. Voice, for obstructing a drain. Mr Swarbrick appealed for the Board. The defendant applied for an adjournment for a month, as he hail stopped his solicitor from attending, thinking the matter would be settled out of court. The adjournment was granted, the defendant paying the adjournment fee and witnesses' expeuses. Ellis v. Meredith.—Claim of balance of account owing. Mr Gresham appeared for the plaintiff, and there was no appearance of the defendant. Judg meut was given for the amount and costs. Elmsly v. Hameta.—Claim of £IS 17s 3(1, for good supplied. Both parties appeared iu person, Mrs Wickham acted as interpreter. Judgment was given for the amount claimed and costs, amount ing to £2 4?. Anderson v. Dawson.—This was an action brought by the plaintiff for the recovety of £5 10s, the value of 11 sheep worried by the defendant's dog. Mr Gresham appeared for the plaintiff and Mr Swarbrick for the defendant, who pleaded not guilty. The hearing lasted up to 5 o'clock. Mrs Wickham acting as interpreter. His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for £l, the value of two sheep, and £6 6s Cd costs.—(Own Correspondent).
