OHAUPO.

Phonograph.— I see we are to have a phonograph and pictorial entertainment in Ohaupo ou Thursday evening next in the Public Hall, Messrs Vause Bros, having lately imported one of the best from America. They have given several entertainments already in the district, and all who have heard it speak highly of its merits; it certainly is a wonderful invention. To a Eiipcrstitious mind it seems as if there was something uncanny in it to hear music and voices coining out rf a trumpet-like tube ; the pictures, too, aie a marvel in themselves. It is to be hoped the evening will be fine and that they will hive a good house. Milk Supply.—The milk supply at the local creamery is beginning 10 run low, a difference between this and last year, bat the percentages are very good, many of the suppliers going 4 and one 4*lo for last mouth, so they have quality if not quantity. The lata rains are having a beneficial effect on the turnips, especially the late sown. Mr McLaren, of this district, has a real good crop of 40 acres, free from blight, they were late-sown and are looking splendid. Threshing.—Threshing is still going on. It appears the machines cannot keep paca with the demand, as farmers arc anxious to have it over before the weather breaks. Between threshing and chaffing it will be some time yet before all is finished. Chaff is turning out well this year. Mr Medway's, of Paterangi, is running 22 sacks to the ton, and the quality is some of the beat I have ever seen,—(Own Correspondent).
