DROWNING CASE.

On Tuesday morning the body of a man, apparently about 50 years of age, was found floating near the railway wharf in the Auckland Harbour. The body was identified by the constable as that of Mr George O'Connell, who was at one rime head - master of a school in Taranaki. The papers found on the body confirm the constable's statement. Mr O'Connell was some time in the King Country, and was for a short time in the Waikato Hospital. He was, we learn, one of the unfortuuate shareholders in the Bank ot New Zealand. THE INQUEST. (by telegraph.—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night. At an inquest on the body of the man, George O'Connell, found in the harbour yesterday, the Jury returned a verdict that George O'Connell was found drowned ; but there was no evidence to show how he got into the water.
