Thk foreign ambassadors at Constantinople have sent a joint note to the Porte requesting the evacuation of Thessaly within a month. The Toronto branch of the British Empire League lias passed a resolution in favour of preferential trade between Britain and the colonies. It also declares that Canada ought to contribute to Imperial defence more liberally. The Italian Chamber of Deputies has authorised the prosecution of four deputies who were concerned in the Cavolotti duel. Despite the intervention of the Queen, the Czar, and the Kaiser, a sepaiation between the Grand Duke of Hesse and his wife has virtually been decided upon.
