RAGLAN COUNTY ROADS.
TO THE KDT.TOR. Sir,—The Raglan County Council gave notice recently that after a certain date all traffic with sle 'ges not raised on wheels should cean\ This, although hard on settlers v here the road is impassable in winter for wheeled traffic, as in the case of the Ngaruawahia-Wain-garo road, is no doubt a s'ep in the right direction, but I would ask the Council, through the columns of the Akuus, why not go a little further and appoint a ranger to impound all horses and cattle trespassing on public roads. I venture to sav the latter do a creat deal more injury '.o the road 3 than all the legitimate traffic, aud when the bridge at Ngaruawahia is completed there will be a large increase in the number of stray cattle on the Raglan side of the Waipa river.—l am, etc., Settler.
