THE GOVERNOR AND THE CHURCHES.
*. Dunedin, Thursday. Bishop Neville and a numb r of clergy and laity waited on Lord Ranimly, and on behalf of the Anglican Church presented an address, conveying loyal greetings and declaring their homage and devotion to the Queen. The address stated " that as churchmen we have Eeculiar satisfaction in welcoming Your ordship, the head of a distinguished family which has beeu closely associated with the administration of the Church of Ireland, to which Church it has given more than one bishop and other ecclesiastical dignitaries.' Lord Ranfurly made a suitable reply. A deputation from the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, consisting of the Moderator (Rev. Gordon Webster), the Revs. W. Gillies (Timaru), A. B. Todd (Geraldine), and three elders, waited on the Governor and presented the address from the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand agreed upon at the meeting at Auckland. His Excclleucy made a suitable reply.
