SOUDAN CAMPAIGN.
PATROL ATTACKED. Cairo, March 23. FiVB hundred Dervish horsemen attacked Egyptian cavalry when the latter were returning from patrol duty. The enemy rode up almost to the Atbara enmp. Dervish camp fires are visible about eighteen miles distant from Atbara.
The Egyptian artillery shelled the enemy with great effect. Seven Egyptians were killed.
