REPORTED SUDDEN DEATH AT HUNTLY.

It was reported in Hamilton yesterday afternoon that a comparatively young man named De Blois, a bookmaker, had dropped dead at the Maori race meeting, held in Ralph's paddock, Huntly, yetteday, but no particulars of the occurrence arc yet to hand. De Blois. as his name suggests, was a foreigner. He was a few years ago a leading light in the Salvation Army, and was stationed at Cambridge, where he is well-known. Giving up the tambourine and the big drum for the racecourse, he joined the ever-increasing army of bookmakers and became a professional penciller.
