MATAMATA ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Matamata Road Boird was held at The Tower on Thursday last, at 3 p.m. There were present: Messrs J. McCaw (chairman), J. Finuerty, R. Foreman and Robert Johustone.

Valuation Roll.—The Valuer-General wrote offerinc to supply the Board with a valuation roll as soon as complete. Resolved to make application as requested. Tenders.—lt was decided to call tenders for the following works :—(1) About 20 chains of road formation Murray's boundary ; (2) 20 chains of drain cleaning on Waiorongomai-Waitoa road ; (3) fascining, digging ditch and ballasting about 25 / chains between Murray's and Waharoa ; (4) 28 chains of drain with outlet to Waitoa River: (5) to widen the bend in the approach to Walton Bridge; (6) forming about 2-i miles of road, 30ft. wide, from the Matamata Railway Station to The Tower. Repairs to Bridge.—The Chairman was empowered to have the necessary repairs effected to the bridge over the Waihou at the Hot Springs. Accounts. —Accounts to the amount of £ll2 8s 2d were passed for payment. Stanley Culvert. —The Chairman reported that Mr B. Montague had finished his contract at Stanley culvert, and that his month's maintenance had commenced as from the 7th inst.

Finance. The Chairman reported that there will be a stun of about £2OO available to carry out the proposed works, after paying accounts passed at that meeting.
