PIRONGIA.

Tetahi Eoad.—The new road to the Tetahi block of laud, starting from a point opposite Mr Arthur Ormsby's farm on the Kawhiu road, is now being made by time parties of contractors under the co-operat're system. With the tine weather we are now experiencing, the. road should soon be cotnpltteri. The works are under the supervision of Mr George Kay. Phonograph. Messrs Vause Bros, gave an exhibition of their pictorial and Jubilee pictures and phonograph on Monday evening last in the Alexandra Public Hall, to a good house. The euterta nment was a enjoyable one throughout, and was moat heartily applauded. In the opinion of those who left here to attend Dix's exhibition the next evening at Te Awamutn, the local exhibitors have by far the best pictures, and that the phonograph is the best that has been heard in the district, and has the best selections. The items, " What Sha:l I Do With Mulligan" and the " Anvil Chorus," took immensely. Reuatta. Are you going to the Ngaruawahia regatta ? is almost sure to be the first question on meeting a friend. There is sure to be (weather beiDg propitious) a large attendance from all parts of the district. It is therefore to be hoped that the railway authorities will for once be equal to the occasiou, and have sufficient carriages to carry their customers with a little decent comfort, which has not hitherto been the case at this end of the line. —(Own Correspondent).
