AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.
(by telegraph—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night. National Bank shares changed hands this morning at 465, at which price more could have been placed, but sellers wanted another sixpence. Amongst insurance stocks the only enquiry was for South British at 49< ; holders asked 50s. River Plate shares showed another advance today, 16a 6d being offered, without elicit ng a selling quotatiou. Other standard stocks showed no change. In mining shares the Ohinemuri Company had most attention, but few transactions resulted, Waitekauri shares were in demand at 435, and Woodstocks 20s ; there were also buyers for Waihi Grand Junctions at 15s, with sellers at 18s 6d. In cheaper lines an enquiry was mad<? for Teutonic, Waihi Consols Extended and Souths. Thames stock showed no change beyond buyers coming in for Kaisers at low rates.
