THE WELLINGTON ELECTION.
A DETERMINED STRUGGLE. (BY telegraph—own correspondent). Wellington, Last Night. The election campaign is bt-ing carried on in a very animated manner. Eicli candidate, besides speaking on the wharf at mid-day, addressed several meetings in different parts of the town at Dight, and to euable them to do this they have called in the assistance of their friends. On Mr Kirk's side the Premier and other Ministers, Messrs Fisher, Stevens, Rigg and Hogg are taking part, and Mr Duthie is seconded by Messrs Scobie McKeDzie, Hcdop, Hutchinson, M«nteath, Dr. Newman and others Both sides are equally sanguine of victory.
