KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above Hoard was held in the Town Hall ou Frilay, February 25th. Present: Commissioners Tristram (Chairman), Dinneen, Elmsly and Corboy. Correspondence—A letter was received from the Government Valuation Department re the necessity of applying for the valuation roll it the Board desired to have copy of same.—The clerk was instructed to make an early application. Spndrt Matters.—The following resolutions were passed :—(I) That the fencing material and gate lately erected at Bryce-street and since remored be eold ; (2) That Colonel Shepherd be requested to trim or cut down trees overhanging the footpath adjoining his property ; (3) That the clerk write Mr Vaile ordering him »o remove a tree at the corner of his property near the footpath, which is dangerous to passengers; (4) That the clerk write the Waipa County re the bad state of the County road in North-Btreet, near Col. Shepherd's ; (5) That the Board accept the responsibility of cleaning out the watertables and sink 3 along the County road at Is Gd per chain, that being the usual cost of the work ; (6) That Mr Ellis be allowed to put a chain between his verandah posts opposite his store on condition that he be held responsible in case of any accident arising therefrom ; (7) That the clerk write Mr Swarbrick (solicitor) to ascertain what steps the Board must take with a view to closing the streets now traversing the Domain grounds ; (S) That Mr R. Macdonald be instructed to have his contract in Walmsley-street completed at an early date. Office. Commissioner Elmsly was authorised to arrange with Mr Grace re constructing a suitable office for the Board in the Town Hall, and to offer three year's rent iu advance towards the cost of same.—The Clerk (Mr Main waring) reported the present utter impossibility of his keeping the property of the Board in anything like security. Slaurhteehouse License. A slaughterhouse license was grunted to Mr J. Elmsly. Tenders— Tenders are to be invited for the following :—(I) Cleaning watertables from Star Hotel to Mr Moisley's gate, and from the Presbyterian Church to the iron gate opposite Mr Dixon's house ; (2) supply of twenty yards of gravel to bo spread where requ'red. Accounts.—The following small accounts were passed for payment :—Petty cash, £1 ; J as. Kennedy, £2 2s 6d.— (Own Correspondent*.
