MORE FIRES IN AUCKLAND.
Akout 11 o'clock on Sunday morning a firj was discovered in the leather and grindery store of F. Jagger and Co., at the foot of Grey-street. Mr Rendu), manager of a chemist's shop next door, noticed smoke comiDg through she partition between the two shops, and at once gave the alarm. The Fire Brigade and Salvage Corps were soon ou the spot, and suppressed the fire in about twenty minutes. The loss is estimated at about £250 to the stock, which was insured for £6OO in the Royal. The damage to and in the chemist's shop is estimated at £lO. (BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT ) Auckland, Last Night. A fire in Church-street, Ponsonby, this morning, resulted in the total destruction of the workshop and contents, owned by Mr Dilly, a cabinet maker. Mr Dilly thinks that probably the fire was caused by a gas eDgine in the workshop. The piopercy was insured in the Northern office for £IOO, but the loss is estimated at double the amount of the insurance.
