MAINE DISASTER.
New York, February 18. The victims by the Maine explosion were accorded a public funeral, including an impressive display by the Spanish military forces. The theatres in Havens- are closed, and the newspapers are appearing in mourning borders. The effusive sympathy of the Span'fh over the catastrophe is irritating the Americans. It is suggested that the explosi«n of mines laid by the Spauish naval authorities as a precautionary measure in Havana harbour caused the disaster.
