FLAX-DRESSING MACHINERY.

(BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Wellington, Last Night. Mr Robert Gardiner has been appointed by the Government to act with Mr R, Duncan, Chief Inspector of Mashinery, in dealing with the claims for the hemp bonuses. Seventeen applicat'ons have been received for the bonus of £1,750 offered for a machine or process which is an' improvement on the existing methods of dressing green flax, and seven for the bonus of £'2so for an improvement in the method of utilising the waste material in the flax-mills.
