LIGHT BREAD.

(BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night. Mr Brabant, S. M., gave judgment this morning in the case against Phillip Crowe, baker, charged with making for sale certain loaves deficient of their denominated and understood value at the time they were offered for sale. His Worship said he did not think it followed that if the defendant marked what was really a 21b loaf with a figure 1, that figure was evidence in his favour. A fine of 40s and costs was imposed. Mr Cotter, fur the defendant, gave notice of appeal, consequently the cases against the other twelve bakers were adjourned for six weeks.
