SILVERSTREAM MURDER.
Dr. Tripe, under examination on Thursday, declared he was satisfied that the death of Hawthorne was the result of a bullet wound. He made no search for poison or disease. Witness was subjected to a lengthy cross-examination, but stuck to his opinion as to the cause of death. The whole trend of the cross-examina-tion of the med cal witnesses was to show that death resulted from poi c on or disease, or both ; but the testimony was directly in f.vour of the theory that death was the result of a bullet wound.
(ISY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Wellington, Last Night. The murder case was contiuued to-day, and the witness Show, with whom the prisoner hoarded for a time, was under examination. No new facts were elecited. The cross-examination by accused's counsel is in the line of defective memory at to dates.
