TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.
A MEETING of the Town Board was held on Thursday evening last. The Commissions present wire Messrs .J. L. Mandeno (Chairman), Gin. Ahier, Win. North and J. B Teasdah. Watkktaulkh. —It was resolved that tenders be called for cleaning out the whole of the watertables in the town boundary, lenders returnable on Thursday next. Lewis' Back Road.—The Chairman brought up the qi.estion of hiving this much-needed piece of work done at the back of the Town Hall leading on to Sloanestreet.—lt was agreed that the matter be allowed to stand over till next meeting of the Board.
Fuuzi". —Resolved that final notices to clear furze I c sent out.
Wokks.—lt was decided that the whole of the Board meet on the afternoon if Thursday next in order to inspect the various strce's and have the necessary works attended to at once.
Rand. —A statement <f the Town Band fund was read, which showed that when all promised Mil scriptions (together with the amount received from the Tc Awamutti Musical Society) were paid the instruments wvuld be cleur
Town Hall.—The Chairman of the Hall Ccinmittee (Mr Geo. Ahier) stated that the sum of £lO had now accumulated for ILi'l hue, which would be paid into the Town Board fund.
Accounts —The following accounts were passed for payment: Caretaker, £1 5a 6 1 ; Cox, l'2s 6d ; Aubin and Co., £2 6a lid; Mandeno. £1 14?.
