AUCKLAND ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
A MEETING of the above was held on Tuesday in Auckland. The statement of accounts showed a balance to current account of £l7 10s 9d and on deposit £206 10s 3d. Since the gazetting of the Rotorna fishing regulations, it was reported by the secretary, revcial pcrsous had taken cut, licences to Let, and there had been a large export of English brown trout from Rotorna, over MCOlb weight having paid poundage, a penny per pound. This duty has to le expended in stocking with front, or other fish, the lakes and rivers of the Rotorna County. Mr Bishop, of Auckland, had taken out a license for fie. tale of trout. It was stated that OaLfornun salmon had been brought down in the refrigerating chamber of the mail steamers for the Auckland market.
