WAIKATO FARMERS' CLUB.

The usual morthly meeting of the above Club was held at Cambridge on Monday evening in the Bo r ougb Chambers There were present : Messrs H. Gillett (President), E. Aileu, J. Anderson, G. E. Clark, W. Tucker, G. Empson, T. Hnrtly, J. D. P. Morgan, W. Kouter, W. H. Wright and J. C. Potts. New MEMBEBS.--Me*srs W. C. Castleton, of Hamilton, and J. Wilkinson, of Cambridge, were elected in ambers of the Club. A Regular Contributor —Mr Buttle, of Sumner, forwarded a copy of the Lyttekon Times, containing the results of experiments made at Lincoln College with cereal crops. Mr Buttle was thanked for his kindly reniembraeces. Railway Matters.—The President stated that he and Mr C.'ark had in'erviewed the Minister of Railways when he was iu the d.strict. —This matter was fully noticed in a previous iasue. Cider.—The President stated that Messfo Fletcher, Humphries and Co , of Christchurch, had commenced making eider in Auckland, which would relieve the local market of surplus apples. He I elieved the piicc would be £2 per ton delivered at any railway station. ACETYMNK Gas.—Mr Wilkinson, jim., it tended with a model of an acetylene gas apparatus, and gave an exhibition of that Tght. It certainly gave a very iood light, and (piite eclipsed the R ichester lamps that were burning in the Chambers. The UuiQUrTors Sparrow. Several copies of a pamphlet on the house sparrow were distributed amongst the members.—Mr Tucker trus'ed the press would print it in extetiso, as he considered it was a most useful document.
