DEATH OF MR E. B. WALKER.
One of the oldest and most enterprising of Waikato settlers, in the person of Mr E. B, Walker, late of Moanavale, near Cambridge, has passed away. The deceased gentleman, accompaircd by his wife, went into Mr Gauiock's drapers' shop, Karangahope Road, Auckland, on Monday night. Mis Walker was making some purchases, and the deceased, who was standing hi the shop, suddenly fell backwards and almost instantly expired Mr Walker leaves a wife and giowo up fami'y to mourn their loss. One of the sons is irianag : ng the above-named estate. Mr Walker was well - known throughout the Waikato, more particularly in the i tuld ourhoodof Cambridge, and his sudden decease has led to cx|.ress ons of much rcgiet ac his death and sympathy with his family. The remains were brought from Auckland to Cambridge yesterday by train, and immediately after its arrival the funeral pruccs.-i u s'arted for the Cambridge Cemetery. The body was laid alongside that of Irs sjii Charles, who died some years back. There was a large attendance, considering the very short notice of the interment that was possible.
