At the annual mcetitg of the Auckland Gas Company today, the Chiirman taid the property now occupied by Hi Company's v\oiks was held rn such an unceitain tenure that it was deemed advUable to prepare a site for their removal on to tin: land urlj iceiu to Fieeman's Bay, and the excavations necessary wee now proce< ding. Tlv so would cost £BSOO. The extension of the gasworks now going on involved the acquisi'ion of a certain amount of capital He had at a previous meeting said they needed another £IO,OOO. This had not been called up, Lut they wai.te 1 it, and th y wanted ano'her £">000, making £15,000. The extra £SOOO was required to run a new 12 n. main to Parntll and Newton, the present ones bei g too small. Professor Brown and Mr W. I'hilcox were unanimously re-elected to the diiccto ate, and Missrs A. W. Thomps n and J E Buddie were reelected audi tots.
