RIFLE CLUB.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Some little time since I read in your paper that thare was a probability of a R lie Club bang formed in the Waikato, and that Colonel Banks had signified his approval of the steps about to be taken. I, together with a number ot old shots, have anxiously been waiting for some development of the scheme. In view of a possible invasion by a foreign foe, a corps such as indicated would, to my mind, be of considerable advantage, and would no doubt act as a. valuable support to infant corps at present existing. Theie should be no dilliculty as to a range, as I understand Captain Reid, with his uoual generosity, is willing to place his at the disposal of the proposed club.—l am, etc., Back Sight. Cambridge, February 3rd, 1897.
