(by telegraph.—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night. To-morrow being the anniversary of the founding of the colony and the ci'y of Auckland will be observed as a close holiday. Numerous attractions are announced, the principal be>ng the Auckland Annual Regatta ami the Takapuna Jockey Club races. The various excursions will no doubt attract thousands of holiday makers. The Auckland Friendly Societies gala will be held in the Domain, and should prove a great attraction.
