WAIKATO AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB'S SPORTS.
The handicaps declared for the above meeting, to be held on Sydney Square on Saturday, appear to have given general satisfaction. Of course some people will always grumble, but up to the present we have ' not heard a sing'e complaint. If the club arc lucky enough to get a fine day there is no doubt the meeting will be an enjoyable one, and visitors can rely on having a pleasant outing. The Auckland train will arrive at Hamilton at 11.24 a m., and a large number of visitors arc expected besides the competitors themselves. This gathering should prove mosfc interesting on account of the number of " top no tellers' who are billed to compete, and also the number of "maidens" who are engaged in both the running and cycling events for the first time. Alany of these are putting in some good work, but their inclusion makes it extremely hard to discover the winners. A contributor, who has been watching the training track regularly, sends us the following tips : 100 Yards Maiden.—T H. Hinton 1, R. A. Wright 2, F. Hunt 3. 100 Yards Flat.-M. Wells 1, C.
