NARROW ESCAPE.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night. Mr Andrew Johnston, who resides in Alpha Koad, Parnell, had a narrow escape from a fatal accident yesterday evening at 11 p.m. He was cleaning a six chambered revolver, under the impression that it was empty. One chamber, however, was loaded and the weapon unexpectedly went off. The bullet struck Mr Johnson on the jaw and ear, making a painful wound. The missile, fortunately, did not go through the cheek, and the injuries sustained will not prove more than a temporary inconvenience. The wound has been stiched up and dressed.
